WWIS History



WorldWide Information Services (WWIS) was formerly known as Mast Publications. On the 1st January 2006, the current management team bought out Mast from the AdvTech Group. The name of the company was then changed to WWIS to better reflect the strategic direction of the company.

Universitas, a subscription agent started trading in 1953. It was acquired by Mast Commercial Operations in 1991 at which stage the name was changed to Mast Publications. In 1996 the company was bought by the AdvTech Group, a JSE listed company, as part of its expansion.

On 10 October 2006 a strategic alliance between WWIS and Teldan was announced. Teldan is a leading supplier of business, scientific and technological information, with more than 28 years of experience and has a close working relationship with the information community. Teldan has agents, representatives and clients in 14 countries worldwide.
